The father of an Italian defender wanted by Tottenham Hotspur has now reacted to the speculation over his son’s future.
We have seen an increasing number of centre-backs being linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur amidst the uncertainty over the futures of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.
In fact, some outlets are convinced that Van de Ven will leave Tottenham even if they stay up this season, and it appears that the Lilywhites have begun looking for possible replacements.

According to reports, Federico Gatti is of interest to both Tottenham and Nottingham Forest ahead of the summer transfer window.
The centre-back’s father, Ludovic, has now shed light on the player’s struggles to get regular starts at the Allianz Stadium this season and admitted that his son is not happy with his game time right now.
Ludovic told TuttoSport: “My son has had a rather unlucky year. Last season he paid the price for the injury he suffered in the spring, which affected him under Tudor.
“He’s carried some of that problem with him into this season too, then a bad flu stopped him in his tracks in November when Spalletti arrived, and finally the meniscus.
“Now he’s bitter because he wants to play more, but it would be strange if he didn’t: fortunately he doesn’t accept this fate, thank goodness, because professionals must always aim for the best.”
Gatti’s future plans revealed amid Spurs links
Ludovic also addressed the speculation linking his son with a move away from the Serie A club at the end of the season.
The defender’s father admitted that the 27-year-old is determined to get back his place in the Binaconeri’s starting eleven.
When asked if the centre-back would be open to signing a new contract in Turin, Ludovic said: “He doesn’t care about a good contract: he wants to feel alive with the satisfaction of playing, so he’ll fight to get his place back.”
