About 30 Southern California museums offer free admission for Annual Art Day
Nearly 30 museums in Southern California will offer free entry Sunday during this year’s “free for all,” which celebrates free arts and culture in the region.
For more than two decades, participating institutions have allowed residents to enter museums without charge, though the offer does not apply to special ticketed exhibitions. Regular parking fees will also apply at each museum.
“For more than 20 years, SoCal Museums members have come together annually to collectively open our doors and welcome the public,” Cristian Hamilton, president of SoCal Museums and vice president of advancement at the Autry Museum of the American West, said in a statement.
“We believe arts and culture should be accessible to everyone, and Museums Free-for-All has become a community touchstone. The day encourages visitors to try something new, return to an old favorite, and experience the extraordinary diversity of free cultural experiences unique to Southern California.”
