NFL player Ronnie Hickman beaten up by group of men in New York hotel lobby
NFL player Ronnie Hickman was assaulted by a group of men at a Lower East Side hotel early Monday, a law enforcement source said.
Hickman, 24, who hails from South Orange, N.J., and is a safety with the Cleveland Browns, was attacked by four men just before 4:30 a.m. in the lobby of the SIXTY LES hotel on Allen St. near E. Houston St.
Just before the assault, both sides argued but it isn’t clear what the dispute was about or if the attackers recognized Hickman as an NFL player, the source said.
Hickman was treated at Bellevue Hospital for minor injuries. He was “later released, and is home resting with his family,” a Browns spokesperson said.
There was no immediate description of the suspects, who fled and have not been caught.
Hickman, a three-year veteran, played college football at Ohio St. University.
Hickman signed with the Cleveland Browns as a free agent on May 12, 2023. He has a career total of 173 tackles and three interceptions, according to ESPN.
