Steve Burton is taking an extended break from General Hospital in 2026.
The 55-year-old actor previously returned to the show in 2024 after a three-year absence due to his refusal to get the COVID-19 vaccine. He has been back as Jason Morgan for the past two years.
Steve took to his social media pages on Tuesday (February 10) to announce that he’s going to be taking a break from the show until summer.

In his message, Steve explained that he’s taking the break to spend time with his family, including new wife Michelle Lundstrom.
“Hey everyone, I wanted to share that I’ll be taking a short break from General Hospital,” he wrote in the post. “I’m newly married and looking forward to spending some quality time with my family. I’m grateful for all the support and will be back this summer. Much luv -sb.”
