Warm Love Cool Dreams returns with Courtney Barnett, Toro y Moi and Tortoise
Local music festival Warm Love Cool Dreams returns to the Salt Shed for its second year on May 23 and 24, organizers said today, and will feature Australian singer Courtney Barnett, Chicago bands Whitney and Tortoise and ‘80s Scottish rock band the Jesus and Mary Chain.
The multi-genre festival spans generations, and includes Grammy-nominated electronic indie artist Toro y Moi, rising local electronic trio Pixel Grip, Baltimore singer-producer Nourished by Time and local “cosmic country” group Tobacco City. It’s set to take place across the venue’s indoor space, outdoor Fairgrounds, rooftop bar and arcade, as well as river boats around Goose Island.
Warm Love Cool Dreams is the third festival announced for Memorial Day Weekend, preceded by Sueños and Forever Mine music festivals. The festival debuted in September 2024.
On their Instagram, the festival organizers write they hope to “amplify the next wave of boundary-pushing artists, connecting the city of Chicago to the worldwide avant-garde in one unified, forward-thinking celebration.”
Single and two-day passes will go on sale Feb. 6. All tickets will be general admission.
