Report Icardi targeted by Juventus with call to Galatasaray
Juventus have approached Galatasaray to request Mauro Icardi for a reunion with Luciano Spalletti, according to Sportitalia transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà.
The Bianconeri are looking for reinforcements in attack after the serious Dusan Vlahovic injury, as Jonathan David and Lois Openda have struggled to find the net.
Jeremie Boga arrived this morning to undergo a medical, but they are still hoping to pick up a centre-forward.
Icardi appreciated by Spalletti
It’s reported now by Sportitalia chief Pedullà that Juve approached Galatasaray to ask after Icardi.
It comes after the two teams were paired in the Champions League play-offs, so Spalletti praised the Argentine in his press conference yesterday, calling Icardi “one of the best finishers I ever worked with.”
They were together at Inter and that was also the last time the centre-forward was in Serie A, leaving for Paris Saint-Germain in a €50m transfer in the summer of 2020.
He turns 33 later this month and his contract with Galatasaray only runs to June 30, so he ought to be available for quite a low price.
The striker scored 10 goals with two assists in 29 competitive games this season, having recovered from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in November 2024.
Icardi was already linked with a Serie A switch in December for Como, Milan or Roma.
