Man, 35, shot, killed in Austin
A 35-year-old man died Friday morning after an altercation, Chicago police said.
The man was outside near the 4800 block of West Ferdinand Street in the Austin neighborhood about 11 a.m. when he got into a verbal altercation with someone, police said.
The other person pulled out a gun and shot the 35-year-old man in the head and torso. The shooter then fled the scene in a red minivan, police said.
He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one is in custody, police said.
