Now, the police report provides new details.
Police went to her home around 4:43 p.m. on Tuesday (January 27) after her 33-year-old daughter requested the check. She said she wasn’t able to reach her mom by phone, and she could hear it in her house at the door.
“Officers made the decision to force entry in order for the welfare check and found Shirley on the floor next to her bed upstairs,” the report says, via People, describing her as “unresponsive.”
There was a “finished plate of food” on her bed and “a single white pill of some sort” by her pillow. She was “said to have been having” medication, but the name of the medicine was redacted, per the report.
She previously said in an interview with Shoutout LA that she took 20 milligrams of Prozac daily to treat her panic disorder. It’s unclear if that was the medication.
Her son was the last person to speak with her in the early afternoon last Friday (January 23), the report also says.
We are still awaiting further details. Our thoughts are with Shirley‘s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
