Kirsten Dunst Is Not Happy About Her Husband Jesse Plemons' Oscars Snub
Kirsten Dunst was clearly less than impressed to learn that her husband Jesse Plemons had been overlooked when it came to this year’s Oscar nominations.
Jesse received widespread acclaim for his work in Yorgos Lanthimos’ Bugonia, which has racked up multiple nominations at the upcoming Academy Awards.
Despite this, he was not nominated in the Best Actor category for his performance in the movie, which Kirsten had something to get off her chest about when the news was announced last week.
Shortly afterwards, the Virgin Suicides star reposted an image of Bugonia actor Stavros Halkias pointing an obscured gun towards the camera alongside the message: “Me to everyone who didn’t nominate Jesse [Plemons] for Best Actor tho...”

According to the New York Post, Kirsten followed this with a snippet from the Bluff Council Podcast, in which host Ev Durán heaped praise on Jesse for his work in Bugonia.
Jesse landed his first Oscar nomination in 2022 for his role in Jane Campion’s The Power Of The Dog, the same year that his wife was also recognised at the Academy Awards for the first time off the back of her performance in the same movie.
The couple later shared the screen again when Jesse made a memorable cameo in the 2024 dystopian thriller Civil War.
While he was snubbed at the Oscars, Jesse was recognised at the Golden Globes earlier this year, and is currently in the running for the Outstanding Male Actor In A Leading Role title at the recently-renamed Actor Awards.
Bugonia is up for four awards in total at this year’s Oscars, including Best Picture and a Best Actress nod for Emma Stone.
