Novato man, mother arrested in drug bust
Investigators arrested a Novato man and his mother after seizing more than 3 pounds of suspected cocaine and an array of other drugs at their home.
The Marin County Specialized Investigative Unit started the probe this month after learning about a suspicious package being shipped to a Novato residence, sheriff’s Lt. Brennan Collins said. The package allegedly contained 400 tablets of tapentadol, a controlled substance similar to the painkiller oxycodone.
Detectives served a warrant Tuesday at a residence on San Miguel Court in the San Marin neighborhood. They found tapentadol and the suspected cocaine along with MDMA, LSD and ketamine, Collins said. They also found evidence of illegal drug sales.
Eric William Garcia, 37, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of possessing controlled substances for sale and obstructing authorities. His bail amount was set at $100,000.
Carolyn Connor, 71, was arrested on suspicion of importing controlled substances and released on bail. She could not be reached for comment.
