There's Exciting News For Heated Rivalry Fans As Its UK Release Date Approaches
We can’t remember the last time a TV show has become a sleeper hit quite like Heated Rivalry.
The racy and romantic sports drama is an adaptation of Rachel Reid’s Game Changers romance novels, and first began airing weekly towards the end of November on the Canadian platform Crave.
After being picked up by HBO Max in the US, it’s gone on to become an international phenomenon across the Atlantic, with plenty of attention being paid to the graphic sex scenes featuring lead actors Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams.
Last month, a UK release date was finally announced for Heated Rivalry, but one question remained over how British fans could enjoy the acclaimed series, which has finally been answered…
How can I watch Heated Rivalry in the UK?
As was announced towards the end of December, the show will premiere in the UK on both Sky TV and the streaming platform Now on Saturday 10 January.
However, it was initially unclear whether Now users would have to wait week-by-week for each instalment, or be able to stream them all in one go.
Fortunately, for those hoping to binge Heated Rivalry in one or two sittings, it was confirmed over the weekend that all six episodes would debut on the service at once.
What is Heated Rivalry actually about, then?
Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams play Ilya Grigoryevich Rozanov and Shane Hollander, two hockey players for rival teams who form an intense bond away from the rink.
Season one charts the first eight years of the ups and downs of their relationship, with a second run already confirmed to be in the works.
Sky’s official synopsis for the series previously teased: “Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are two of the biggest stars in Major League Hockey, bound by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic pull neither of them fully understands.
“What begins as a secret fling between two fresh-faced rookies evolves into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery.
“Over the next eight years, the pair chase glory on the ice while struggling to navigate their feelings off it. Torn between the sport they live for and the love they can’t ignore, Shane and Ilya must decide if there is room in their fiercely competitive world for something as fragile and as powerful as real love.”
As well as Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams, who is in the cast of Heated Rivalry?
Heated Rivalry’s supporting cast includes François Arnaud, Christina Chang, Robbie G.K., Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova, Sophie Nélisse and Dylan Walsh.
If Hudson looks familiar, you might have seen him in Allegiance, Tracker or festive made-for-TV movie All I Need For Christmas, while Connor previously made a memorable appearance in the ill-fated Joker sequel Folie À Deux.
