Milwaukee Brewers Announce That Prospect Frank Cairone Was Injured in 'Serious Car Accident'
Milwaukee Brewers prospect Frank Cairone has been injured in a "serious car accident" and hospitalized, but his condition is not yet clear.
MLB.com announced the tragedy in a statement on January 3. "Brewers Minor League pitcher Frank Cairone, Milwaukee’s No. 26 prospect per MLB Pipeline, was involved in a serious car accident near his New Jersey home on Friday and was hospitalized as of Saturday night," MLB.com wrote.
“Frank is currently being cared for at a hospital in New Jersey with the support of his family,” read a statement from the Brewers. “The Brewers’ thoughts and prayers are with Frank and his family during his difficult time.”
Frank Cairone's Condition Was Withheld by the Milwaukee Brewers
According to MLB.com, Cairone's condition was not released. Further details of the crash were also not revealed.
"The Brewers said they would provide updates about Cairone’s condition as they become available," MLB.com reported.
Cairone was described as "a left-hander who turned 18 in September, was drafted out of Delsea Regional High School in Franklinville, N.J. at No. 68 overall in the 2025 Draft, a compensatory selection for unsigned 2024 Draft pick Chris Levonas."
Added MLB.com, "Cairone spent the late summer and fall at the team’s complex in Arizona in anticipation of making his professional debut in 2026."
"Hopefully one day I will get the chance to pitch on a big-league mound,” he said to The Courier-Post in July. “I don’t feel any pressure. I feel I have done everything I could do, especially atthe combine and showcased everything I had.”
Frank Cairone Posted About the Milwaukee Brewers on His Instagram Page
Cairone's Instagram page shows a promising young player. "Officially a Brewer! Blessed to be given this amazing opportunity. Time to get to work," he wrote in July.
"Unranked to 2nd Round Pick➡️ Frank Cairone," wrote Baseball Performance Center on Instagram. "Frank Cairone’s rise wasn’t by accident—it was based on adjustments, detail, and sticking to a process. Frank came in initially with a good mechanical base and with a few small adjustments had potential to throw HARD."
Cairone also posted photos with friends and his girlfriend. "Livin'," read a post showing him on a golf course.
The Courier-Postdid a big write-up of Cairone in July. "Hordes of scouts attended his games at a consistent pace throughout the season and whata year it was for Cairone, who doesn’t turn 18 until September," the newspaper wrote.

“It was an awesome experience,” Cairone said in a phone interview with the newspaper. “I met a bunch of guys,and it was cool to see the big-name guys there.”
In 2024, his high school posted a shout-out to him on Facebook. "Congratulations to Frank Cairone who earned his 100th career strikeout in a dominant win over Highland!" the post read.
