BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) - Saratoga County will have a new District Attorney following the November General Election. Karen Heggen is not running for re-election and two candidates are vying to take her place.
One of them is Democrat Robert Logan. Logan was with the DA's office for three years and says his top priority is lowering the number of domestic violence calls police receive.
He says the number of domestic violence calls have nearly doubled over the last nine years. "That needs to be focused on and as the district attorney I would definitely prioritize ensuring the assistant district attorneys who handle special victims cases get the training they need," said Logan. He adds that he wants to make sure those ADA's "are supported in a way that they can remain on the job."
Logan sat down with News10 to discuss the issues facing law enforcement in Saratoga County.
