PPS Superintendent talks tackling budget gap, state directives and federal cuts
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Dr. Kimberlee Armstrong came to Portland in Summer 2024 from the Evergreen School District in Vancouver.
Now Superintendent of Oregon's largest school district - with about 45,000 students - Dr. Armstrong is dealing with several challenges at Portland Public Schools.
She joined Eye on Northwest Politics to discuss these obstacles, which include a budget gap, possible new directives on student performance from the state, as well as federal cuts to the U.S. Department of Education which impact us here at home.
