Wannabe textile by Designtex
Dezeen Showroom: a mix of subtle and strong stripes feature in US brand Designtex's Wannabe – a felted wall-covering textile made from 100 per cent recycled plastic bottles.
Wannabe is a non-woven felted textile that comes in three variations: the original flat style, the finely patterned Wannabe Rib and the bolder linear emboss of Wannabe Stripe.
The three styles harmoniously sit alongside each other and can be creatively mixed and matched to create bespoke wallcovering solutions that bring soft tactility and acoustic comfort to interiors.
Colour is also a big focus of the product line, which is made from solution-dyed fibres that offer increased colourfastness and stain resistance and that have been developed into a selection of 25 deep, marled hues.
Wannabe is made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, with 15 bottles recycled in every yard of textile.
The product is also low in VOCs and contains no anti-microbials, flame retardants or PFAS.
