Capital Region BOCES students collecting toys for Schenectady toy store
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Capital Region BOCES students from the SkillsUSA chapter on the Albany campus are collecting toy and money donations for a local Schenectady toy store. The Schenectady Inner City Ministries toy store will receive these donations on December 10.
The students are collecting donations in a sleigh in the lobby of the Career and Technical Education Center on the Albany Campus of the school. Both monetary and toy donations can be made here on or before December 9 before the delivery happens on December 10.
The students will use the monetary donations to purchase more toys and games on December 9 to combine with the already donated items. On the day of delivery, students will also volunteer at the Schenectady Inner City Ministries to help parents shop for their children and help wrap the presents.
“SkillsUSA students have been participating in this program for many years now and It has been a wonderful opportunity to support our community during the holiday season,” said advisor Gretchen McDonough.
