I found my dream wedding dress but don’t have enough to buy it so now I’m begging strangers online to chip in
MOST of us would do pretty much anything to grab our dream wedding dress – even if it’s out of our price range.
And that’s exactly what one bride-to-be has done after begging strangers online to help fund her designer wedding gown.
Taking to social media, Allison Kelley, from the US, revealed she had found her dream dress – a gorgeous Vivienne Westwood number.
The ivory silk dress featured the iconic corset style the UK designer’s dresses all have with a dramatic skirt that was a mini length in the front and floor-length at the back.
In the clip the future-bride said: “I’m pretty sure I owe everyone a little dress update.
“If you’re new here, I made the very irresponsible decision of trying this dress on when she is well out of my price point.”
She then showed a picture of herself trying on the stunning dress which she fell in love with.
However, it seemed she didn’t have enough for the £4,627 dress so tasked her trusty TikTok followers to help her.
She already had £1,000 for the dress but needed to come up with an extra £3,627 to buy the bridal gown outright.
That’s when Allison asked people to watch all of her videos so that she could rake in cash from their views on the TikTok creator fund.
TikTok bosses say: “The funds that each creator can earn are worked out by a combination of factors; including the number of views and the authenticity of those views, the level of engagement on the content, as well as making sure content is in line with our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
“No two creators or videos are the same, and there is no limit to the different kinds of content we will support with the fund.
“The Creator Fund total varies daily and is dependent on the amount of videos published by our community that day – so this will fluctuate based on the amount of content being published.”
All the woman had to do now was make one-minute long videos and hope they come up on people’s FYP and that they watched for a minimum of five-seconds to turn it into money.
The clip posted to her TikTok account @allisonkelley_ has gone viral with over 640k views and 122k likes.
People were quick to interact with the video in the hopes she could get her dream dress.
