Game Thread: Raptors vs. Spurs updates, TV info, and more
The Raptors and Spurs will tip-off with heavy hearts.
As the Toronto Raptors and San Antonio Spurs get ready to take the court, the NBA is in sudden mourning following the death of Kobe Bryant and four other people earlier today in a helicopter accident.
Although I think most of us would generally agree that cancelling today’s NBA games in the wake of the news would be appropriate, it is, logistically speaking, a difficult thing to do in a very short period of time — the news broke just about an hour before tip-off.
And so, as of this writing, today’s game is scheduled to happen in roughly 20 minutes or so. It will undoubtedly be played with heavy hearts, both on the courts and in the stands, and from everyone watching.
We’ll update this post should anything change regarding today’s tip-off.
RIP, Kobe Bryant.
