It's only been a week since Toys 'R' Us announced it would close all of its stores, but heartbreak has hit the shelves again. Toys 'R' Us founder Charles Lazarus died Thursday, the company confirmed. He was 94.

DENVER (AP) — Denver police say officers who shot and killed a man after a high-speed chase believed an escaped inmate was a passenger in the car. Denver Police Commander Barb Carver said 23-year-old Steven Nguyen was killed and 23-year-old Rafael Landeros was shot but survived. She said they were associates of Mauricio Venzor-Gonzalez, who escaped from sheriff deputies on Monday during a visit to a Denver hospital. SACRAMENTO — Community members and activists gathered at Sacramento City Hall on Thursday to protest the fatal shooting of an unarmed black man by police. Black Lives Matter Sacramento organized the rally in honor of Stephon Clark, a 22-year-old who was shot Sunday night in the backyard of his grandparents’ home, where he was staying. BRISBANE, Calif. (AP) _ CareDx Inc. (CDNA) on Thursday reported a loss of $31.7 million in its fourth quarter. On a per-share basis, the Brisbane, California-based company said it had a loss of $1.13. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 9 cents per share. The molecular diagnostics company posted revenue of $12.5 million in the period. For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $55.5 million, or $2.38 per share.
