A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau, Chief Alexander Mwolwus on Thursday, December 21, described the parallel PDP faction as `a fallacy and sham of no repute’.
NAIJ.com gathered that Mwolwus, who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), faulted their claims, saying that the convention held devoid of any rancour or misgiving.

“For the so-called faction to claim to be aggrieved in any way is ridiculous as none of them contested for the chairmanship position of the party.
“I think this set of people are not PDP members who have the interest of the party at heart because if they are, they won’t be talking of “fresh’’ PDP.
“If people like Chief Bode George, Prof. Tunde Adeniran or Daar Communications Ltd founder, Raymond Dokpesi that were in this so-called group parading themselves as PDP faction, one will take them serious but these people are stooges of some unseen forces or enemies, ’’ he said.
Mwolwus, a former special adviser (SA) to ex-governor Jonah Jang on political matters, called on security operatives to swoop on the factional leaders and arrest them before they make a mess of the nation’s democracy.
He argued that with the slogan of the PDP as “Power to the People’’ the import of the word “fresh’’ signified that it was a new political party and not a PDP faction as claimed.
“The faction should go and register the party with INEC and stop parading themselves as a faction of PDP.
“What I expect from the security operatives is to quickly round-up the leaders of that so called new political party and prosecute them for not passing through INEC’s registration before opening up a secretariat of a non-existent party, ’’ Mwolwus said.
He expressed surprise over the temerity and dexterity of the faction, which could only be sponsored by some mischievous persons aimed at destabilising PDP.
Emmaneul Nwosu, leader of the faction, on Wednesday, December 20, addressed a world conference on the formation of a “PDP Fresh’’ with the opening of its Secretariat in Abuja.
The faction had hinged its emergence from the Prince Uche Secondus’ led PDP on what it described as the “injustices’’ that pervaded the party’s recently concluded convention held at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

“No matter the ploy of enemies of PDP, the party is solidly on ground and ready to give Nigerians some respite come 2019 with sense of sincerity and purpose,’’ he said. (NAN)
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had previously reported that the emergence of the new faction of the PDP is believed to be as a result of the fallout from the recently concluded elective national convention of the party in which some candidates said to be on the unity list were elected.
