2 Washington state educators killed in Mexico bus crash
SEATTLE (AP) — A husband and wife who were longtime educators in Washington state were among the 11 foreign tourists killed in a bus crash in southern Mexico.
Jody Fritz was an assistant principal at an elementary school in Belfair. North Mason School District Superintendent Dana Rosenbach says a family member notified the school that Fritz died while vacationing in Mexico. She says Fritz was an outstanding educator with a heart for the community.
Her husband Andy Fritz taught environmental science at Clover Park Technical College south of Tacoma for nearly two decades. A college official, Tawny Dotson, says he was committed to teaching and the environment and that the community is reeling from his loss.
