James Tarkowski was retroactively suspended for three matches for violent conduct after elbowing Brighton striker Glenn Murray in the midsection in an off-the-ball incident. The play was not called by the official, but the FA’s Independent Regulatory Commission intervened. Tarkowski had admitted to the charge but according to the Lancashire Telegraph, claimed that the three match ban was excessive. The FA disagreed.
