Major injury crash near Pacifica blocks Hwy. 1 in both directions
A major injury crash Thursday morning near the Devil’s Slide area of Pacifica shutdown Highway 1 in both directions, officials said.
The crash occurred about 6:30 a.m. just south of the Tom Lantos Tunnel, according to the California Highway Patrol.
When emergency crews arrived on scene, they discovered a white sedan had toppled onto its side.
Crews were working to extricate a semiconscious passenger trapped in the sedan, CHP reported.
The highway remained closed in both directions at 8 a.m., and there was no time estimate on when it will be reopened.
