People in the news: NPR hails Albany Symphony
NPR has named Albany Symphony's recording of George Tsontakis' works as one of its "Top 10 Classical Albums of 2017," describing the recording as "a fascinating window into the American composer's eclectic style, and an opportunity to hear one of this country's finest regional orchestras."
"Tsontakis: Anasa — True Colors — Unforgettable," released in August on the Naxos label, was recorded at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall and the American Music Festival. It features three compositions by the Hudson Valley composer, long familiar to Albany Symphony audiences as a frequent collaborator under David Alan Miller's baton.
