FEC approves contracts worth N378 billion
- The Federal Executive Council has approved projects worth N378 billion
- 22 memoranda were considered out of the 42 presented to the council
- The projects were approved after a six-hour FEC meeting presided over by President Buhari
The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday, December 20, approved projects worth N378 billion across the country.
This was disclosed in a tweet shared by the personal assistant to the president on new media, Bashir Ahmad.
The projects were approved after a six-hour of extraordinary meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari in State House, Abuja.

Present at the meeting were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SGF Mr. Boss Mustapha, Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari and Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita.
NAIJ.com gathered that out of the 42 memoranda presented to the council, 22 were considered while others would be treated today.
Babatunde Fashola, the minister of works, power and housing said the council approved N155.7bn for the Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano road.
The minister said N14.4bn was approved for the Efire-Araromi-Aiyede-Aiyela Road connecting Ondo and Ogun states, as well as N62.06bn for the Enugu-Onitsha Road (Amansia and Umunya sections).
Fashola said N38.965 bn was approved for the first phase of provision of independent power plant for nine universities and one teaching hospital.
He said the FEC also approved N436 million variation cost for the completion of Police Service Commission headquarters in Abuja and N457 million variation cost for the Nnamdi Azikiwe Mausoleum in Anambra State.
FCT Minister Mohammed Musa Bello said the FEC approved N3.8bn for the augmentation of the Goodluck Jonathan Way in Abuja linking Keffi-Nyanya into the city and another N26bn for the infrastructure development of Wasa resettlement.
NAIJ.com previously reported that the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, said the extraordinary meeting of the Federal Executive Council, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, will continue on Thursday, December 21, NAN reports.

Shehu, who made this known in Abuja on Wednesday, December 20, said the meeting was extended to Thursday to enable the Council deliberate and take decisions on pending issues.
Shehu disclosed that the federal government plans to make Nigerians happy by providing tangible and meaningful projects to uplift their quality of life.
