49ers’ Robbie Gould nets another honor
The kicks - and awards - keep coming for Robbie Gould.
On Wednesday, the 49ers placekicker was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks. Gould is the only member of the 49ers to receive a player-of-the week award in the past three seasons. He’s also the only player to be honored multiple times in the same season since kicker Phil Dawson in 2013.
Gould was recognized after he made 6-of-6 field goals, including the 45-yard game-winner as time expired, in a 25-23 win over the Titans on Sunday. He became the only kicker in NFL history to have 15 field goals in a three-week span.
