Video: UFC vet Vitor Miranda scores KO win in return to kickboxing
Vitor Miranda had a perfect night in his return to kickboxing.
A UFC veteran and TUF Brazil 3 heavyweight finalist, Miranda took on Paraguay’s Elias Rodriguez in a heavyweight bout (207.5 pounds) in the main event of WGP 52 in his hometown of Joinville, Brazil, on Sunday night, and won by second-round knockout.
Miranda, who has compered under the K-1 banner before transitioning to mixed martial arts, dropped Rodriguez with a punch and knee to the body followed by two left hands to the head.

The Team Nogueira fighter joined the UFC in 2014, knocking out three opponents in the TUF house before dropping a decision to Antonio Carlos Junior in the final. “Lex Luthor” moved down to middleweight after that, finishing Jake Collier, Clint Hester and Marcelo Guimaraes before losing his next three bouts via decision and being let go by the promotion.
Miranda, who signed a one-fight deal with WGP, is a free agent in both kickboxing and MMA.
