DANCING On Ice fans have slammed last night’s results as a “fix to boost ratings” after Caprice Bourret was saved despite a “wobbly” performance.
The model, 48, has been at the heart of off-screen controversy after she ditched her partner Hamish Gaman, citing “bullying” and “gaslighting” claims.
She threatened to quit unless she was given a new partner and narrowly avoided being sent home on Sunday with replacement Oscar Peter, as Blue Peter Presenter Radzi Chinyanganya was instead kicked off.
Fans took to Twitter to claim Caprice’s fate was deliberately planned by judges in order to keep ratings high over her mysterious partner-switch, which has not been fully explained by the show.
One took to Twitter to write: “Well that was controversial.. shame such a great show is ruined by a silly and unfair decision to keep Caprice in …was this a ratings decision?
“I think ITV are the winners tonight but the fans are definitely the losers let’s hope it does not back fire losing fans.”
Another posted: “This programme just proved to the public that it’s not a skating competition.
“Keeping Caprice in will ensure higher ratings for next week, in turn the show will make more money, sound business sense in all honesty, it’s following the same greedy route as BGT, X factor etc…”
A third then put: “#DancingOnIce by keeping Caprice in, they get headlines and ratings on the show. This is why Gemma Collins was kept in last year.”
Another directly tagged the show and put: “@dancingonice at any time in the near future are any of you shower of producers going to release any kind of statement regarding the sorry saga that is Caprice??

“Or are you just going to let everyone make their own minds up to boost your ratings?”
During her first show skating with Oscar, Caprice was met with a series of boos from the crowd.
She missed last week’s episode due to the spat with Hamish.
While Hamish, 36, will not skate with Caprice again, ITV confirmed he will still take part in the show’s group numbers.
An ITV spokeswoman said: “We take allegations of bullying very seriously but found no evidence on Dancing On Ice and strongly refute any suggestion to the contrary.”
