Chariot drivers vote to join Teamsters
Chariot drivers vote to join Teamsters A majority of the 215 drivers signed union authorization cards, the Teamsters said on Tuesday, crediting Chariot and its owner, Ford Motor Co., for staying neutral during the union organizing process, rather than taking a contentious stance and requiring an election. “We look forward to working together (with Teamsters Local 665) in our continued commitment to providing competitive wages and benefits, on-the-job training and meaningful career opportunities for our drivers,” Chariot said in a statement. Shuttle drivers for contractors servicing Yahoo, Facebook, Salesforce, Apple, Genentech, eBay, Cisco, Amtrak, Netflix, Zynga, PayPal, LinkedIn and Twitter have all joined the Teamsters since 2014.
