(AP) — A security guard at a Costa Rica Airbnb rental villa was arrested in the death of a Florida woman who was remembered by friends as an avid world traveler and "happy soul," authorities said Wednesday. Carla Stefaniak of Hallandale Beach, Florida, went to the Central American country to celebrate her 36th birthday but never boarded her Nov. 28 return flight after messaging friends that it was "pretty sketchy" at her resort. Sarah Palin turned himself in to an Anchorage halfway house Wednesday to begin a year in custody, following his conviction for assaulting his father. Robots are coming to a Walmart near you, and not just as a gimmick. The world’s largest retailer is going to use 360 autonomous floor-scrubbing robots in some of its stores in the U.S. by the end of the January, it said in a joint statement with Brain Corp., which makes the machines. GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say a Virginia man found with two guns in a North Carolina high school had a handwritten note that appears to be a hit list. “The Hunting Ground” filmmakers Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick have entered a two-year first-look deal with Entertainment One, the studio announced on Wednesday. There is something very fascinating about a movie that doesn’t try to appease its audience. It could go awry (like whatever is going on in “Vice”), or it could be writer-director Brady Corbet’s “Vox Lux” — a pretty, messy, unapologetic indictment on pop culture that is too on-the-nose to be taken seriously, but still manages to make some actually solid points about the commercialization of the tragic celebrity.
