WASHINGTON — The lone military identification tag that North Korea provided with 55 boxes of human remains last month belonged to Master Sgt. Charles H. McDaniel, an Army medic from Indiana who was killed in the opening months of the Korean War. NEW YORK (AP) — Former Hearst Newspapers CEO Robert J. Danzig has died at after a long illness. He was 85. Hearst says Danzig died in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, om Wednesday. The company says Danzig rose from tough beginnings as a foster child to become the head of Hearst Newspapers in 1977, a post he held until 1997. The newspaper division acquired the Houston Chronicle, San Antonio Express-News and several community newspapers under Danzig's leadership. After two days of turmoil, Tesla shares have fallen back closer to the level they were trading at before CEO Elon Musk tweeted Tuesday that he may take the company private. Shares closed down 5 percent on Thursday. WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge has halted a deportation in progress and threatened to hold Attorney General Jeff Sessions in contempt if the mother and daughter aren't returned to the U.S. U.S. District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan of Washington learned Thursday that the two were on a plane headed to Central America. He said any delay in bringing them back would be intolerable. The judge said Sessions and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen should argue why they shouldn't be held in contempt of court if they failed to comply.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — An initial 15-mile stretch of the country's newest interstate designed to ultimately connect Las Vegas and Phoenix is open to motorists. Nevada officials gathered Thursday to open the new roadway that bypasses Boulder City near the Arizona border and is estimated to shave 30 minutes to the drive from Las Vegas to Phoenix. VALLEJO, Calif. (AP) — Northern California police say a woman set herself on fire inside her home last weekend, killing herself and her twin 14-year-old daughters. Vallejo Police Captain Lee Horton said Thursday 47-year-old Mau Dao's suicide also injured her 11-year-old daughter. He says detectives are investigating the case in the San Francisco Bay Area as a suicide that resulted in two homicides. AUSTIN, Texas (AP) _ Digital Turbine Inc. (APPS) on Thursday reported fiscal first-quarter net income of $484,000, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier. The Austin, Texas-based company said it had profit of 1 cent per share. Losses, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 1 cent per share. Christensen Farms was among about a dozen businesses raided by federal immigration officials Wednesday. The investigative arm of U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement led the operation. LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Air Lease Corp. (AL) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $115.2 million. The Los Angeles-based company said it had net income of $1.04 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to $1.44 per share. The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.09 per share. SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities say two approximately 10-year-old children were badly injured in a pedestrian vehicle crash in south Seattle. The Seattle Police Department says the collision happened Thursday at the intersection of Rainier Avenue South and South Henderson Street in the Dunlap neighborhood. The Seattle Fire Department says the two girls were taken to a Seattle hospital. Fire officials say one was in critical condition and the other was in serious condition. No further information was immediately available.
