RIGA, Latvia (AP) — The European Central Bank said Thursday it will phase out at year-end the bond-buying stimulus program credited with helping the 19 countries that use the euro recover from the Great Recession and eurozone debt crisis. The bank said after a policy meeting of its 25-member governing council that the stimulus program's bond purchases would be reduced to 15 billion euros ($17.7 billion) a month — from the current 30 billion euros — from October. They would then be wound up completely after December.

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Police say a 35-year-old Alabama man accused of having more than 30 child pornography videos on his computer has been arrested. Huntsville Police Lt. Michael Jackson told Al.com on Wednesday that Michael Justin Berger had videos depicting children as young as 3. He came under investigation after a Dropbox, online file sharing and storage service, detected child pornography associated with Berger's IP address. DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) — Two more Spearfish residents have been sentenced for their roles in the illegal and deadly drug trade in the city. The Black Hills Pioneer reports that 26-year-old Marcus Pelletier was sentenced to serve a year in prison for drug distribution. Thirty-four-year-old Jeffrey Duex was sentenced to 15 days in jail and three years of probation for drug use. FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A man accused in a fatal brawl outside a downtown Fargo bar last year is expected to plead guilty to charges. KFGO says Darren Patterson is expected to change his not guilty plea during a hearing Thursday. He had been scheduled for trial next week on charges of manslaughter and assault. Patterson is accused of punching Jaime Grant and two other men outside the HoDo bar on May 27, 2017. Grant fell, hit his head on the sidewalk and never regained consciousness. The memes featured photos of the 14-year-old with homophobic slurs. It is not clear why she was targeted. The actress' publicist did not immediately respond to an email seeking comment Thursday. LEYDEN, Mass. (AP) — Authorities have tentatively identified the woman found dead in the rubble of a western Massachusetts home destroyed by fire.
