(AP) — The family of a 22-year-old train passenger found severely injured next to railroad tracks in Truckee, California, suspects the gay man may have been the victim of a hate crime but Amtrak says police have found no evidence of foul play. The Reno Gazette Journal reports that Aaron Salazar's family believes the Portland State University student was attacked and didn't jump from the train. Glenn Snoddy was 96. His daughter Dianne Mayo said Saturday that Snoddy died Monday of congestive heart failure at his Murfreesboro, Tennessee, home. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports 44-year-old Becky Ann York was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to receiving stolen property and fraudulent use of a credit device. DETROIT (AP) — A man charged with shooting at Detroit police officers has been captured after he cut off his electronic monitor and briefly disappeared. Police say Ivory Traylor III was arrested Saturday in Macomb County's Clinton Township. The Detroit News reports that he had failed to appear at a court hearing Friday. A judge had reduced Traylor's bond last fall and ordered him to wear an ankle tether outside jail. Police say he cut it off before the court hearing. OLD LYME, Conn. (AP) — Police say a pedestrian has been struck by a car on a Connecticut highway. A box truck hit the unidentified person shortly before 7 a.m. Saturday near exit 70 in Old Lyme. The person was transported to a hospital by Life Star, a critical care helicopter service. The truck initially continued but was stopped by police. Thirty-four-year-old Jessica Lynn Alinsky had appealed the verdict and the 20- to 40-year sentence in the September 2011 slaying of Matthew Gailie at the couple's Hazle Township home.
