DENVER (AP) — The Latest on the fatal shooting of a sheriff's deputy in Colorado (all times local): 6:45 p.m. A Veterans Affairs document obtained by The Associated Press says the gunman who killed a Colorado sheriff's deputy escaped from the mental health ward of a VA hospital in Wyoming in 2014 but was located and returned. BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a teenager whose body was found north of Denver. The Boulder Daily Camera reports 19-year-old Natalie Bollinger, of Broomfield, was reported missing Thursday and was found dead in a wooded area near a street in unincorporated Adams County the following day. MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) — Officers discovered the bodies of a 50-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man inside a southern Oregon home Tuesday in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide. Medford police Lt. Justin Ivens said officers responded to the home Tuesday to check on Charmaine Crunk after she failed to make it to work as a tax preparer. SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) — Authorities have called off the search for a man who was last seen fishing for crab from a kayak near the mouth of the Seaside Estuary. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports City of Seaside spokeswoman Esther Moberg says the Coast Guard called off the search Tuesday afternoon, citing "survivability factors" including the fact that Matthew Manley was reportedly not wearing a life jacket. SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Ray "Bones" Bandar, a retired high school science teacher who kept 6,000 animal skulls in his San Francisco home, has died. He was 90. Faylene Bandar tells the San Francisco Chronicle that her uncle died from congestive heart failure on Dec. 23 at his home. Bandar began stocking his home with bones when he and his wife bought it in 1965. CHEBOYGAN, Mich. (AP) — Anglers will get their annual opportunity to catch a lake sturgeon on Black Lake in northern Michigan's Cheboygan County. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources says the sturgeon season will begin at 8 a.m. Feb. 3. Participants are required to register.
