SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) — Three university students are suing an art and design school scheduled for closing and its parent company. The lawsuit filed Thursday cites fraud and breach of contract after Santa Fe University of Art and Design decided to closing following the spring 2018 semester.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities showed the latest draft of its plans for the Sterling Highway Milepost 97-118 Project on Wednesday, the Peninsula Clarion reported (http://bit.ly/2qgactf). CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago's aviation department is launching a test to try to give communities near O'Hare International Airport a break from the noise of jets taking off and landing. The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/2owj1z6 ) reports the test that begins this weekend will rotate the runways being used overnight to see if there is a way to better distribute the noise. Residents of communities near the airport have complained about the loud sounds for years.

Over the past seven years, the jail's population has spiked almost 50 percent — with nearly every inmate having both mental illness and substance abuse problems — and officials suspect the rise is due to methamphetamine use.
