NEW YORK (AP) — As the holiday season gets into full swing, shoppers have been flocking to a Brooklyn flea market for gifts in a category all their own. About a dozen vendors displayed their horrific wares Sunday at the Morbid Anatomy Museum Holiday Flea Market. They included earrings made from muskrat jaws; pieces of human skulls; and a wide variety of taxidermy. One vendor offered two-headed taxidermied birds — adorned with a Santa hat on each head. The flea market is the last in a series of three the museum has hosted this year.

(AP) — The University of Southern Mississippi is gaining a reputation as a military-friendly school after boosting scholarships for veterans and creating a special center aimed at helping them get a college degree. Since the university's Center for Military Veterans, Service Members and Families opened a year ago, it has created 14 scholarships for students who are veterans.

CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — An attorney in southwest Idaho says a highway district commissioner refused to allow a court-ordered inspection of his property after being accused of storing surplus scrap metal on his property. According to the complaint, McEvoy's property contains a few hundred decaying vehicles, more than 1,000 tires, and dismantled tractors and semi-trailers spread across 100 acres. (AP) — Authorities are investigating a stabbing that wounded one woman at a Florida nudist resort. The resort's general manager, Morley Schloss, tells The Associated Press that the 18-year-old woman had been walking on a nature trail when she was stabbed multiple times by an unknown person.

Sheriff's spokesman Jay Baker said in an emailed statement Sunday that 26-year-old Nicholas Campbell is charged with four counts each of child cruelty, aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the death of Ciara Campbell. Baker says deputies responded to a call about an unresponsive child Thursday night and arrested Campbell after interviews with him, the girl's mother and her grandmother.
