Brief spike in heat forecast for Bay Area this week
Sunny skies and rising temperatures will warm the Bay Area this week as a brief heat wave moves through the region, forecasters said Sunday.
The balmy weather will reach its peak on Tuesday, said Warren Blier, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
“It looks like a nice warming trend for the first part of the week and then cooling down a bit again as we head into the latter part of the week,” Blier said. “Nothing super dramatic.”
Temperatures on Monday will be about 70 degrees in San Francisco before jumping to 75 degrees on Tuesday, Blier said.
Oakland is forecast to climb into the 80s, and San Jose is expected to reach about 90 degrees on Tuesday.
