49ers GM John Lynch says ‘discussions are ongoing’ with free agent RB Carlos Hyde
INDIANAPOLIS -- General manager John Lynch said the 49ers have had “ongoing” talks with free agent running back Carlos Hyde’s camp, though the possibility of his return next season remains uncertain.
Hyde, 27, will be an unrestricted free agent on March 14. Hyde started all 16 games last season for the 49ers, carrying 240 times for 938 yards and eight touchdowns also recording 59 catches for 350 yards.
“We’ve had discussions with Carlos all the way through the season,” Lynch said Thursday at the NFL Combine. “We haven’t been able to come to an agreement, but those discussions are ongoing. This is a great opportunity - his representative is down here. We’ll continue to talk.
