(AP) — The Louisiana Offshore Oil Port is seeking customers for a planned service that will send crude to Texas refineries. The project is intended to bring back the market that was cut off when the Houston-to-Houma pipeline was reversed two years ago, LOOP spokesman Terrance R. Coleman tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1QbyGJF). The oil port is seeking commitments from prospective shippers to use the facility's proposed marine vessel crude oil loading services.

General Motors' sales rose 1.5 percent over last November, while Toyota and Fiat Chrysler's each saw 3 percent sales gains. VW's U.S. sales plummeted almost 25 percent, hurt by the company's admission that its diesel vehicles cheated on emissions tests. Fighting between rebels belonging to the Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK, and government forces flared up again in July, killing hundreds of people and derailing a fragile peace process with the Kurds. Two suicide bombings, blamed on a local cell of the Islamic State group, killed 130 people in a town near the border with Syria in July, and in the capital, Ankara, in October.
