WASHINGTON (AP) — Heroin and prescription pain pills are among the top drug threats in the U.S., according to the Drug Enforcement Administration's latest drug threat assessment Wednesday. The DEA's 2015 National Drug Threat Assessment found that heroin is most popular among drug users in the Northeast and Midwest, though availability of the potent street drug has increased across the country and use rose by about 50 percent between 2013 and 2014.

Residents and environmental groups opposed the transmission line, which would have connected a power plant that would run off of natural gas in Asheville to a substation in Campobello, South Carolina, north of Spartanburg. Duke Energy also promised to build a solar power plant on the site of the new natural gas plants, but environmental groups said the utility needs to do more to wean off fossil fuels and get into renewable sources of energy for power generation.

In a small but growing number of places, people who land in hospitals after being revived by the drug are being guided toward long-term treatment. The drug, pronounced nuh-LOX-ohn but often known by the brand name Narcan, is administered via shot or nasal spray and can almost immediately revive a victim of an overdose on heroin and its painkiller relatives, known as opioids. ARDEN HILLS, Minn. (AP) — Pudding maker Kozy Shack Enterprises is recalling some pudding because it was not labeled as containing eggs. The voluntary recall involves one lot of the Indulgent Recipe Pudding in a Salted Caramel cardboard sleeve that may contain Vanilla Bean Pudding cups. Kozy Shack said Wednesday the vanilla pudding contains eggs but the Salted Caramel cardboard sleeve does not include egg among the ingredients. Alderson and Collins sat at a table for the 20-minute formal portion of the news conference Wednesday in the Citi Field interview room, and Alderson then spent about 10 minutes answering questions from broadcast media.

DETROIT (AP) — Volkswagen is temporarily halting sales of more diesel vehicles in the U.S. and Canada after regulators said they cheated on emissions tests. Honda is recalling over 145,000 motorcycles in the U.S. to fix dragging rear brakes that can cause a fire or crash. Documents posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration say it's the third recall for some of the motorcycles.

HELSINKI (AP) — Finland is launching a series of 'national emojis' that include people sweating in saunas, classic Nokia phones and heavy metal head-bangers. Petra Theman from the Finnish Foreign Ministry says the emojis will be released as a way to promote the country's image abroad and are based on themes associated with Finland.
