Photos: Passengers rescued from CTA 'L' train after power outage
A stalled train was evacuated after the Chicago Transit Authority released an alert about a temporary suspension of service on the Brown and Purple lines due to a power outage Tuesday afternoon.
Maddie Kilgannon, a CTA spokesperson, said there was a reported loss of power near Merchandise Mart around 4:40 p.m. Service was temporarily down on the Brown line between Armitage and the Loop and on the Purple Line express service between Howard and the Loop.
