Tesla's Solar Roof is now available for preorder. 

The company began taking preorders for its smooth black glass shingles and the textured glass shingles on Wednesday. Tesla said it will begin installations in the US this year and in other countries in 2018. 

The Tuscan and French Slate shingles should become available by early 2018.

Snapchat parent company Snap's first ever earnings report as a public company is out and it's not pretty.

The social network Snap, which went public in March in a frenzied $33 billion initial public offering, on Wednesday reported earnings for the first time.

It wildly missed analysts' projections for revenue and the number of users it added to its network.

Other bits of bad news were in there as well, such as a rise in costs.

Although the company warned investors in its prospectus that it "may never" be profitable, its first-ever earnings sent the stock tumbling anyway — over 20% as of Wednesday evening. Читать дальше...

Vermont's legislature approved a bill to legalize the possession of one ounce of marijuana on Wednesday, sending the bill to Gov. Phil Scott's desk to either veto or sign into law. 

The Vermont House approved bill S.22 79 to 66 on Wednesday afternoon, reports The Burlington Free Press.

The bill will eliminate penalties for individuals possessing one ounce of marijuana or less, and will allow the possession of up to two mature plants by July 2018. Читать дальше...

Shares of messaging company Snap are plummeting in the after-hours trade.

The stock is down more than 21% after missing earnings and daily active user estimates in its first quarterly report as a publicly traded company.

Google announced Wednesday that it bought Owlchemy Labs, one of the top virtual reality video game companies.

Owlchemy will join Google's Daydream division, which makes the Daydream VR headset and is also working on augmented reality.

The move signals that Google wants to build more VR content in house, even as rival Facebook closes its own VR studio, Oculus Story Studio.

Seattle Seahawks defensive end Frank Clark lashed out a reporter on Twitter after she linked to a story about his domestic violence charge in 2015.

Clark, who the Seahawks drafted in the second round in 2015, was charged with domestic violence in 2014 for hitting his then-girlfriend and was kicked off the Michigan football team.

According to Deadspin, Clark later had the charges dropped after pleading guilty to disorderly conduct.

Kroger is diving into the fast-growing meal-kit business.

The supermarket chain is offering meal kits — or packages that contain recipes and accompanying ingredients — at a handful of stores and launching them nationwide over the next year, Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen said Wednesday in a letter to shareholders.

Billionaire businessman Mark Cuban on Wednesday explained what he believed to be the bigger issue was with President Donald Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey.

Cuban, the owner of the NBA's Dallas Mavericks and star of ABC's "Shark Tank," told Business Insider that it's not about "whether or not Comey should be fired or why he was fired."

"The issue is trust," Cuban said.

NBC has selected “Jesus Christ Superstar” as the next live musical to head to the network, Variety has learned.

The show follows in the footsteps of NBC’s successful run of live musical events, including “Sound of Music Live,” “Peter Pan Live,” “The Wiz Live” and most recently, “Hairspray Live.”

Stocks were little changed on Wednesday as investors shrugged off President Donald Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey.

All three major indices moved less than 0.2% as stocks stayed mired in a tight trading range. The S&P 500 nudged higher, sitting just below a record reached on Friday, while the Nasdaq Composite climbed slightly from the all-time high it hit on Tuesday.

Tesla began accepting orders for its smooth glass and textured glass solar shingle options Wednesday afternoon. The company's Tuscan glass and French slate shingles, however, won't be available for purchase until 2018.

Tesla announced on Wednesday that it has begun taking orders for its new solar roof.

The solar tiles that make up the roof were designed to be extremely durable — they're made of glass, after all.

A new solar roof will also be expensive up front compared to a conventional roof, but Tesla says that it will last for 30 years, the length of a standard US mortgage, or longer.

Much longer.

Russian President Vladimir Putin told CBS former FBI Director James Comey's firing will have "no effect" on US-Russia relations, in a bizarre rink-side interview on Wednesday.

Putin, dressed in full hockey gear, told CBS correspondent Eliza Palmer through his translator and spokesman Dmitry Peskov that her questions "look very funny to me."

"Don't be angry with me," Putin continued, with Russian pop music blaring in the background. "We have nothing to do with that."

Snapchat's user growth slowed to its lowest pace in years, as parent company Snap Inc. missed Wall Street expectations for its first quarterly earnings as a public company on Wednesday, sending its shares plunging more than 20% in after-hours trading.

Snap added 8 million new daily users in the first three months of the year, representing year-on-year growth of 36%. At this time last year, Snapchat was growing its DAUs by 52%.
