Republican Sen. John McCain slammed his GOP colleague, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, on Wednesday after Paul blocked the passage of a treaty that would allow Montenegro to move forward with joining NATO, Defense News' Joe Gould reported.

McCain warned before the vote that “If there’s objection, you are achieving the objectives of Vladimir Putin...and I do not say that lightly.”

Tesla announced it will raise $1.15 billion in a series of offerings on Wednesday.

The automaker will offer roughly $250 million in common stock and $750 million in convertible senior notes that are due in 2022, according to an SEC filing.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk plans to purchase 96,900 shares of common stock, which is worth approximately $25 million at the public offering price.

An Iraq war veteran accused of killing five people in a shooting at a Florida airport this year appears mentally fit to stand trial despite psychiatric health issues, a federal judge said on Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom said she would not order a mental competency evaluation for Esteban Santiago after his lawyers said he was taking prescribed anti-psychotic medication and participating in his defense.

Russian spies and hackers teamed up to break into thousands of Yahoo accounts, the US Department of Justice alleged on Wednesday.

The breach involved more than 500 million stolen Yahoo accounts in total, representing one of the biggest hacks of all time. 

So how did the Russian hackers do it?

GoPro announced Wednesday that it was cutting 270 jobs to reduce its operating expenses and achieve profitability.

It was the second time the camera maker announced layoffs in three months. 

The affected positions included full-time jobs and openings. The camera maker had 1,552 employees as of December 2016 according to its website. 

GoPro shares jumped by as much as 12% in after-hours trading following the news.

Rachel Maddow says that if people felt let down by her story about President Donald Trump's 2005 tax document it's more because of the weight of expectation than anything she did.

The MSNBC host found herself in the odd position Wednesday of defending herself from criticism following one of the biggest-ever scoops for her show. Maddow's show revealed, through reporter David Cay Johnston, two pages of tax return information that showed Trump earned $150 million in 2005 and paid $38 million in income taxes that year. E-trading firm Virtu Financial is looking to buy KCG Holdings for $1.2 billion, CNBC reports, citing Dow Jones.

Shares in KCG jumped 23% on the news.

KCG, founded in 2013 and based in New York, is a high-frequency trading firm that also engages in electronic execution, institutional sales and trading, and market making.

US Treasury bonds are soaring after the Federal Reserve hiked its key interest rate to a range of 0.75% to 1% at Wednesday's meeting. The rate hike is the third by the Fed since December 2015 and has the central bank on a path to meet its target of three rate hikes by the end of the year.

Jeff Gundlach, founder and chief executive officer of Doubleline Capital, named India as his "favorite stock market," urging investors to look for opportunities in emerging markets and Europe.

"My favorite stock market India that I've been touting now for years, is doing great this year," Gundlach told CNBC's Scott Wapner on Fast Money's Half-Time Report on Wednesday.

A U.N. agency published a report on Wednesday accusing Israel of imposing an "apartheid regime" of racial discrimination on the Palestinian people, and said it was the first time a U.N. body had clearly made the charge.

The company, Baker, raised an additional $1.6 million on top of its initial seed round in August for a total haul of $3.5 million.

Zynga's latest filing with the SEC reveals that it paid $42.5 million for four popular Solitaire smartphone games made by Harpan LLC.

A perfectly normal acquisition, if a little steep. The real twist is that Harpan LLC is owned, operated, and staffed by a pair of brothers — Austin-based Tim Oswald and his Chicago-area brother William.

With one deal, they're both millionaires.
