New details about the death of Charlie Keating IV, the Navy SEAL killed by ISIS fire in Iraq on Tuesday, have come to light after the cessation of fighting near Tel Askuf, a town just north of ISIS' Iraqi capital of Mosul.

Tribune Publishing has thrown out Gannett's offer to buy it for $815 million.

In a statement Wednesday, Tribune, which owns titles including the LOs Angeles Times, said its board unanimously rejected Gannett's "opportunistic" offer.

"The Board believes that the price reflected in the Proposal understates the Company’s true value and is not in the best interests of our shareholders," Tribune CEO Justin Dearborn wrote in a letter to Gannett.

Gannett publicized its proposal to buy Tribune for $12.

Yale University announced last week that it will retain the name of Calhoun College, one of its 12 residential colleges. The college was named for John C. Calhoun, a 19th-century alumnus and a fervent supporter of slavery.

Billionaire hedge fund manager Jim Chanos is betting against Elon Musk.

Chanos said Wednesday he is short Tesla, the car company led by Musk, and SolarCity, where Musk is chairman. 

He was asked by CNBC whether he was short Tesla after Bloomberg reported that two executives responsible for building its cars, Greg Reichow and Josh Ensign, will leave the electric car maker.

Tesla is way ahead of schedule is meeting one if its most ambitious goals, the company said on Wednesday.

Zach Schreiber, CEO of PointState Capital, is betting against Saudi Arabia.

"Saudi Arabia is economically unsustainable," Schreiber said at the Sohn Investment Conference Wednesday.

The bet is at least partially tied to the oil price. Saudi Arabia's economy is heavily dependent on the price of oil, which is currently trading at around $44, down from above $100 a few years ago.

Fitbit

Fitbit shares fell as much as 11% in after-hours trading after the maker of smart wearables reported first-quarter results. 

Earnings topped analysts' expectations, but guidance for the current quarter missed even the lowest forecast.

The company reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $0.10, beating the forecast for $0.02 according to Bloomberg. Revenues totaled $505.4 million, also topping the estimate for $443.3 million.

Parents of four Newark Public School students have filed a proposed class-action lawsuit claiming the district and other city and state officials "poisoned" thousand of students by deliberately exposing them to toxic levels of lead from March 2011 to present, which caused gastrointestinal and cognitive health problems.

Tesla just reported its first-quarter results, capping a busy news day for the electric-car maker.

The company generated $1.6 billion in revenue and a narrower-than-expected adjusted loss per share of $0.57.

Tesla was expected to report a quarterly adjusted loss of $0.60 per share and revenues of $1.61 billion, according to Bloomberg.

Tesla raised its forecast for capital spending this year by 50% to $1.5 billion.

FBI

The FBI has arrested a man accused of trying to contaminate food at a Whole Foods in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The man, whose name has not been released, sprayed a liquid mixture of hand cleaner, water, and Tomcat mouse poison onto produce and prepared-food bars at Whole Foods and two other area grocery stores, Meijer and Plum Market, according to the FBI.

"The suspect stated that he sprayed produce in these stores within the last two weeks," the FBI said in a statement.
