One of the three inmates who escaped a week ago from a maximum-security jail unit in Southern California has been captured, local media reported on Friday.

Three inmates escaped from the prison last Friday after cutting through half-inch steel bars and rappelling down the side of the building using their bed sheets.

Stocks are surging today.

Near 3:38 p.m. ET, the Dow was up by nearly 350 points, while the S&P and Nasdaq were up by more than 2%.

It was a big, busy morning for economic data:

• Fourth-quarter GDP came in at 0.8%, virtually in line with the forecast for 0.7%. The 2015 print was 2.4%, the same as the year before. The Obama administration on Friday issued a proposal that would require private businesses to submit more data about how their employees are paid, in a bid to help address the wage gap between men and women.

The NFL said on Friday that there were 271 concussions over the course of the 2015 regular season, which in a season of 267 games averages out to about one concussion per game.

This is the most concussions reported by the NFL over the past four years. However, earlier this season we looked at some similar data that suggested the number of concussions being reported jumped in 2013, the first year with the new concussion protocol, but has not risen since then.
