ISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota is once again leading the nation in population growth, and the number of residents in the state is at an all-time high, according to figures released Tuesday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The bureau's most recent estimate put the state population at 756,927 in July, an increase of 16,887 residents — or about 2.3 percent — compared to July 2014. That percentage, far higher than the national average, is largely driven by people in search of jobs in oil-rich western North Dakota.

Virginia will no longer recognize concealed-carry handgun permits from 25 states that have reciprocity agreements with the state, effective Feb. 1, Attorney General Mark Herring said on Tuesday.

Virginia took the step because laws in those states are less restrictive, Herring's office said in a statement.

Goldman Sachs has added three new bankers to its inner circle.

On Monday, CEO Lloyd Blankfein and President Gary Cohn announced in a memo, seen by Business Insider, that Gregg Lemkau, Marc Nachmann and Jim Esposito would be joining the firm's management committee.

Joining the committee is a prestigious reward for rising stars within the firm.

An 18-year-old killer whale has died at the SeaWorld park in San Antonio, the park said on Tuesday, raising concern among animal groups that have criticized the company for years over its treatment of captive marine mammals.

The female whale, named Unna, was the third whale to die at the Texas park in six months.

SeaWorld said in a statement that Unna died on Monday from a "resistant strain of a fungus called Candida."

The long wait for Facebook's Oculus Rift virtual reality headset is almost over.

Palmer Luckey, the founder of Facebook subsidiary Oculus VR, shared on Twitter that the manufacturing process is going well, and re-affirmed that the headset is on track for a first-quarter launch (although the company has yet to announce the price of the device).
