Tomales Bay kayakers rescued by helicopter crew
Two adults and two children were stranded in the Point Reyes National Seashore on the west side of the bay.
A helicopter crew rescued four people stranded on the western shore of Tomales Bay after a report of kayakers in distress.
The rescue happened Saturday afternoon after a witness saw two kayaks being swept out to sea in rough surf, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. The office received a request from the Marin County Fire Department to send its helicopter for the search.
The helicopter crew found two adults and two children on the shore, landed nearby and flew them to Lawson’s Landing at Dillon Beach, the sheriff’s office said.
