Fortnite Foundation Character Could Be Dwayne Johnson After Twitter Tease
In a new energy drink ad, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson drops a massive hint about his relationship with Fortnite's masked hero The Foundation.
A new energy drink ad starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson further hints at his true identity as Fortnite character The Foundation. Epic Games' beloved battle royale shooter features a whole host of different playable skins, including crossover characters such as Batman and Deadpool. Since the masked warrior's introduction back in March 2021, many members of the title's fanbase have theorized that Fortnite's Foundation is actually Dwayne Johnson and that a dramatic reveal is imminent.
Introduced in Fortnite's Season 5 finale, The Foundation is the leader of a mysterious organization called The Seven. Arriving onto the shooter's map in destructive meteors, the masked beings appear to be extraterrestrial or extradimensional in nature. Since their introduction only four members of the group have been revealed, with the additional three figures likely to make appearances in Fortnite's future. While the masked warriors may appear antagonistic at first glance, their leader The Foundation was introduced as an ally during the game's Zero Crisis Finale event back in March 2021. The Foundation has also received particular attention due to several bizarre details which seem to link him to actor and former WWE star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The theory connecting Fortnite's Foundation and The Rock points to the masked warrior's armor mirroring The Rock's tattoos, leaked plans for a Dwayne Johnson skin, and the actor himself dropping hints throughout the year.
Now a ZOA energy drink ad, tweeted by Dwayne Johnson, all but confirms that The Rock and The Foundation are one and the same. Within his tweet Johnson purposely highlights distinct vocabulary which relates to Fortnite, such as "ZERO POINT," "HIGHER GROUND" and "FOUNDATION." The video ad contains the most explicit hint, however, as The Rock opens his fridge to grab a ZOA can and reveals The Foundation's distinctive helmet within. While the ad is not an official confirmation, it is now safe to say that there is a definite link between The Rock and The Foundation which may be explored in Fortnite's next Chapter.
With Dwayne Johnson's explicit teasing of The Foundation's true identity, it seems as if the masked hero may soon adopt a more prominent role in Fortnite's story. This dramatic unmasking coincide with the upcoming launch of Fortnite Chapter 3, which will follow the end of Chapter 2 on December 4. The second chapter's finale will be marked by a climactic battle against the Cube Queen, with players from throughout the Battle Royale community joining together to take down the villainous matriarch. While few specific details about Chapter 3 have been officially revealed, beyond a big redesign of the game's map, it now seems likely that The Rock may help to ring in Fortnite's next era.
Many Fortnite fans have speculated about The Foundation's true identity since his introduction earlier this year. The character's armor design and name both point to some relationship with Dwayne Johnson, and the enormous celebrity has dropped his own subtle hints in the past. With the actor's latest ZOA ad, however, these hints have evolved into an almost official confirmation of the man behind The Foundation's mask. With Chapter 2's ending fast approaching, gamers should be on the lookout for any hints at what The Rock is cooking.
