Trump says he WON’T wear CDC recommended mask as he clashes with reporter over Kushner’s role fighting shortage
DONALD Trump said he won’t wear a face masks like the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions have recommended while sparring with a reporter over Jared Kushner’s role in fixing the medical equipment shortage.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now recommends that people wear cloth facial coverings to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, Trump said Friday.
But despite the agency’s update to federal guidelines on mitigating the COVID-19 outbreak, Donald Trump says he won’t do it.
Trump stressed that the CDC’s guidance on wearing face coverings in public is strictly voluntary before saying he doesn’t plan on following the agency’s suggestion.

“I don’t think I’m gonna be doing it,” he said at a White House coronavirus press conference Friday.
“You can do it, you don’t have to do it. I’m choosing not to do it, but some want to do it.
“It is only a recommendation, it is voluntary.”
Trump doubled down on his decision to not wear any facial covering when asked by a reporter whether he’d wear a mask given the CDC’s update to their guidance.

He said he was “feeling good” and couldn’t see himself following the suggestion.
“I’m feeling good. Sitting in the Oval Office behind that beautiful resolute desk…,” he said.
“Wearing a face mask as I greet presidents, prime ministers, dictators, kings, queens…somehow, I don’t see it for myself.”
