He said 11 people are still missing while 20 were left injured in the attack.
He said: “On Tuesday, we saw our people running helter-skelter in the city that they brought the corpses of Church priests that were allegedly killed at Dukwayango village and then suddenly Tiv youth started killing our people. As I am talking to you, they have killed over eight people, over 20 sustained injuries and several shops were razed while over eleven people are missing”.
Abdurrahman said the Tiv youths have continued to kill his people with impunity even though they have been living in the community for years.
He wondered why they should be attacked when they were not responsible for the violence in the state.
“We are not farmers, we don’t rear animal. We are just traders that focused on our businesses. These things happened in villages and in the bushes, why are Tiv youth then killing our people?”
He called on Hausa youths to remain calm and not carry arms against the people.
He also called on the federal government to manage the situation before it escalated.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari appealed to the people of Benue state not to cave in or allow themselves to be used by those he considered enemies of the country trying to bring it to a sorry point.

Buhari made the appeal in a statement by one of his spokespersons, Garba Shehu, late Thursday, April 26.
It read in part: “Repeated acts of mass killings and destruction in parts of the country and Benue state in particular, point to the evil design of enemies of peace and unity who have desperately been trying to bring the country to this sorry point: a brother killing brother, a neighbor killing a neighbor and a community attacking and killing members of another community."
